About

About Logbook Life ✈️

Every pilot has a story — this is mine.

My journey in aviation began like many others: with wide eyes, a dream of flight, and the determination to make it a reality. Since then, I’ve logged hours in everything from training aircraft to charter jets, and I’ve had the privilege of guiding others as a flight instructor. Aviation has been more than a career for me; it’s been a teacher, a challenge, and a lifelong companion.

Logbook Life was born out of a simple idea: a logbook records hours, but the real story is in what happens between the lines. Each flight teaches something — about flying, about decision-making, and often about life itself. This site is my way of opening that book and sharing what I’ve learned along the way.

✈️ What You’ll Find Here

  • For the Student Pilot: Practical tips and checkride preparation advice from someone who’s been in your seat — and has trained others to sit in it.
  • For the Career-Minded Pilot: Honest insights into charter life, schedules, and what it means to balance flying with the rest of life.
  • For the Aviation Enthusiast: Stories and reflections that remind us why we love flying in the first place.

🌍 My Mission

This isn’t just another aviation blog filled with technical jargon. My goal is to make aviation relatable and real. Whether you’re sweating over maneuvers, considering your next career step, or just love the romance of the skies, I want you to walk away encouraged, informed, and inspired.

🚀 Join Me in the Journey

Flying has shaped who I am in ways that go far beyond the cockpit. My hope is that through Logbook Life, you’ll find stories and lessons that shape you, too.

So, welcome aboard. Let’s keep logging more than just hours — let’s log the life lessons that come with them.

From my logbook to yours — stay safe, and let’s fly. Tommy J.
